What does the roof pitch factor calculate?

It converts horizontal projected area into the sloped area of one simple roof plane. The factor is square root of 1 plus rise-over-run squared. It is a geometry factor, not a labor, waste, safety, or price multiplier.

How are the chart values rounded?

GeoQuote calculates each row from the full-precision formula. The chart shows angle to one decimal place, percent slope to one decimal place when needed, and the area factor to three decimals. The calculator uses the unrounded factor and rounds only the final area to the nearest square foot.

Is there one standard labor or cost multiplier for each roof pitch?

No. Contractors set their own pricing from crew productivity, access, staging, roof geometry, local requirements, material, scope, and risk. This calculator does not prescribe a surcharge.

Does pitch alone determine fall-protection requirements?
